The 6th Edition of BCN Thinking Challenge is up and running, which means that during these days –18th and 19th of April– the University becomes the epicentre of university entrepreneurship for social purposes.

Just like in former editions, BCN Thinking Challenge, an Entrepreneurs Club initiative, fosters entrepreneurship towards social problems. In this case, food waste, a reality that can be subject of fresh and innovative ideas. Projects to help solve the disparity between food surplus and the scarcity that many society layers have to live through.

Throughout the day, students from our university, ESADE, Pompeu Fabra, Teamlabs, Panamericana and CEU San Pablo work as a team in entrepreneurship projects that will be presented in public later on. The organisation will provide a consultant team to guide groups. This year, the advisors will be Cristian Agudelo, Uli Uli BCN founder, Alex Bastarós, founder and CEO of AllandRay, Ana Puig, Doctor Fackoy international project manager, and Miriam Lao, CEO and founder of Thunderglasses.

The public presentation will be on Thursday 19th April at 8 p.m. at the gala that will take place in Aula Magna. Participants will have to present their idea in front of a jury made up of Danone’s sustainability integration manager, Borja Lafuente, the Local Development operational director, Enric Miravitllas, the member of Cáritas Diocesana de Barcelona, Fernando Porta, and the university rector, Eva Perea.

BCN Thinking Challenge is supported by the University Chairs of Family Business and Business Creation and is sponsored by CEU Emprende, Santander Universidades, Masia Tero and ReNueva by Danone, a circular economy project to grant packaging a second life.
