This summer, the Andalusian city of Antequera hosted the sixth edition of the European University Championships and we've got good news: our women's golf is still maintaining its sky-high standards. The students, from the Double Degree in Advertising and PR + Journalism, Andrea de Sentmenat and María Piñeiro, made themselves champions of Europe in the women's team category.

After trailing in third place for the first three days, the girls made an exciting comeback to bring gold back to the University, beating off fierce competition from Toulouse 1 Capitole University and the University of Malaga.

This sixth edition brought together participants from ten universities from six countries: Toulouse 1 Capitole and Burgundy, from France; St. Gallen, from Switzerland; Algarve, from Portugal; Karlsruhe and Mannheim, from Germany; Stirling, from the UK; and from Spain: players from Navarra, Malaga and our own university.

The European medals capped a very successful year for both Maria Piñeiro and Andrea de Sentmenat. In February, the Catalan championship in Llavaneres saw Maria Piñeiro take two golds and Andrea de Sentmenat two silvers, and later, in April's national championships in Elche, Andrea de Sentmenat won the bronze medal.
