Why study at UAO CEU?

We do this by covering a wide range of the important issues relating to auditing and accounting.

2. A standardised course

This is an official master’s degree approved by the Institute of Accounting and Auditing qualifying those who take it for exemption from the theoretical exam; the subjects from which it exempts them is dependent on the subjects students took as part of their previous degree. It allows graduates to enter the Official Registry of Chartered Accountants, and includes work placements that can be counted to meet the practical training requirements to work as a chartered accountant.

The official master’s degree in Financial Auditing and Accounting qualifies graduates to register with the Official Registry of Chartered Accountants (ROAC) and practise as professionals. To do so, the master’s offers all students the opportunity to take supplementary training modules (if necessary) depending on candidates’ previous undergraduate studies.

Students who need to take supplementary credits to meet the requirements of the Institute of Accounting and Auditing may study those credits alongside the master’s at the same time, so that they will meet all the academic requirements for access to the ROAC by the end of the programme.

4. Professional development

The master’s includes 1,000 hour of work placements at prestigious auditing and accounting firms that can be used to meet the practical training requirements to practise as a professional financial auditor. It also includes a job’s board with job offers from more than 2,300 collaborating companies with work placements in over 20 countries.

DETAILED CV OF LECTURERS

Career opportunities

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Upon completion, students will receive the official master’s degree title in Financial Auditing and Accounting from Abat Oliba CEU University.

This master's degree is unquestionably a boost to your career prospects, given the wide variety of subjects it covers and the broad spectrum covered by auditing. Auditors not only review accounts in order to verify compliance with accounting regulations, but also make a judgement as to the company's financial and economic status. As a result, you will need an in-depth knowledge of businesses.

In order for business activities to function correctly, auditors, whose role is of public interest, as established by the European Commission, are essential.

In order to carry out their work, auditors require broad, comprehensive training, but also a high level of ethical dedication, enabling them to express an opinion on the company in question and its economic and financial reality, a key aspect of decision making.

This official master's degree in Financial Auditing and Accounting aims to expand and build on the generally limited knowledge of accounting taught in Business Administration and Management degrees and similar, equipping master’s students with advanced skills in the highly specialised field of financial auditing.

This knowledge is then applied as we analyse and solve practical cases and situations similar to those that may arise in the workplace. In order to achieve this, our methodology focuses on participation to explore cases that deal with actual situations that come up at companies, as well as an end-of-year project that aims to develop your capacity to systematise the elements seen throughout the subjects, while learning how to analyse and communicate them in the most successful way possible.

Upon completion of this programme, students will be able to apply the knowledge gained autonomously and continuously in their professional activity as accounts auditors as well as in other positions related to the field of accounting.
