Tandem finds your language partner

Languages are best learned when practised, and one of the best ways to do this is with a partner; a linguistic one, in this case. Linguistic partners benefit each other by exchanging their language skills. This logic of symbiosis has brought the International Office and the Language Service to create the UAO CEU Tandem, thought to make linguistic partners easier to find.

These partners are made to practise two languages. That is, the partner is formed by joining someone who wants to learn a language with someone else who speaks it and, at the same time, is interested in learning the tongue of the former (e.g. a Catalan speaker who wants to practice English with an American interested in learning Catalan). Tandem UAO CEU expects a weekly meetup for 10 weeks, although where and what to do is up to the partners. The program will start off with an informal meal to break the ice.

In order to register, you only need to fill this form, where you should indicate what language you “offer” and which one you want to practise. Registered members will be called later on for an initial meeting with their linguistic partner. The period for enrolment will be opened during September.
