In 2017, the AQU (Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency) carried out their three-yearly employability survey of graduates from all Catalan universities over the course of the three years following their graduation.

The 6th edition of the Employability Survey, which is carried out every three years by the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU Catalunya), highlights attractive career prospects for graduate students at Abat Oliba CEU University. Our excellent results in quantitative terms (more than 90% of graduates from our university are in employment) are coupled with our positive results in terms of quality.
These and other aspects are publicly available in this document, and the results were presented by the director of AQU, Martí Casadesús, at an event held at our university on 23 July 2018.
In 2017, the AQU (Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency) carried out their three-yearly student satisfaction survey of graduates from all Catalan universities over the course of the three years following their graduation.
The study highlights the fact that the overall index of satisfaction of UAO students with the studies they undertook is 79.8%, one of the highest among Catalan universities (between second and third place).
The Work Placement and Employment Service has extended the scope of careers advice thanks to a collaboration agreement signed between the Catalan Employment Service (SOC) and Catalan universities.
The aim of the service is to help students find work by offering careers advice and guidance. This advice looks to improve the employability of students by offering training in the key professional tools and skills they will need to find jobs, through both individual and group sessions.

The CEU ePlus Employment Skills Programme brings out the best in each student to develop their skills and help them achieve their career goals. It supports students from the very first semester of the first year and accompanies them through to their final year, when the professional skills workshops and the CertiUni certification sessions are held. Students also have the chance to take individualised coaching sessions.
The programme encompasses:
The programme aims to progressively enhance students’ professional skills and work on the social skills students will also need. This training will provide students with the tools they need to be able to define their professional goals and take on the challenge of taking their place on the jobs market with confidence.
These workshops are part of the Internship module, so they are carried out by all students.
The workshops consist of two different parts:
1. Effective job hunts: writing your CV, how to enter the jobs market, social networks and how to take on a job interview and succeed.
2. Training and developing key skills for your future profession
The skills have been selected based on employers’ assessments of the most important skills and their satisfaction with new graduates. The opinions of the students themselves and the professors have also been collected.
The workshop is aimed at developing skills and is experience based, focussing on participation; this foster self-awareness, feedback and skills development. Each skill is adjusted and adapted to each particular programme, making it easier for students to find their place in their future profession.
As for tools to help students find jobs, our sessions are adapted to match each profession and sector, offering efficient tools that are constantly updated.
There are two types of internships:
During the degree, students will face changes, needs, objectives and motivations, and they will need support and accompaniment in taking on these challenges. A particularly sensitive time is when studies draw to an end and students need to take decisions about getting their first job.
Careers Orientation Service supports students during all stages of their academic life and helps guide them in achieving their professional goals, from the very first year of university to life after graduation.
To do this, we have developed a process of several coaching sessions to help students identify their needs, enhancing their personal resources and providing them with tools to achieve their professional goals through concrete action plans.
The success of the process is based on mutual trust between coach and student, confidentiality and commitment.
